Free trainings (with certificates) from Anthropic

Anthropic — the company behind Claude — has an official training site, and everything on it is free.

It's called Anthropic Academy. The catalog lives at anthropic.com/learn, and the courses run at anthropic.skilljar.com. Signing up takes an email address and nothing else — no credit card, no trial clock. The courses are self-paced, and most hand you a certificate at the end.

There are around twenty courses, and plenty of them are written for developers. Skip those for now. If you're starting from zero, three fit:

• Claude 101. Using Claude for everyday work — writing, research, planning. If you take only one, take this one.
• AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations. Not about any one tool — it's about working with AI in general: what to hand off, what to double-check, how to give instructions that get good work back.
• Claude Code 101. For the week you decide to open the terminal. It covers the same ground as the first few pieces in this series, from the maker's side of the table.

If Cowork turned out to be your front door, there's an Introduction to Claude Cowork as well. And the AI Fluency course comes in editions for teachers, students, nonprofits, and small businesses — same ideas, aimed at your world.

About the certificates: they're real, they're free, and you can add them to LinkedIn. A certificate from the company that makes the tool is a perfectly good signal. It won't get you hired by itself — but that's not really what it's for. A course gives you a finish line, and finish lines are what keep beginners moving.

I didn't learn this way. I pointed Claude at a folder, asked it questions, and spent a few weeks being confused in private. That path works too — most of this series comes from it. But if what's been keeping you on the sidelines is not knowing where to start, this is an official answer, from the people who build the thing.
