Platen Build — one builder, end to end

Bring the idea.I'll build theweb app

The custom app you've been trying to get AI to build — made real, hosted, and kept running. One builder who takes it end to end, at a fraction of what a dev team costs.

You bring the idea.
I build it.

No quotes here, no payment forms. It starts with a conversation — money comes up on the call, in plain numbers.

01

Tell me the idea

A few sentences on the app you wish existed — the one you've been trying to get AI to build and can't quite land. Rough is fine.

02

We talk for 30 minutes

I learn you, the problem, and the right questions to ask next. You leave knowing exactly what I'd build and how it'd work.

03

I build it — and keep it running

Built end to end, hosted, and yours. Reasonable changes come with the upkeep. Bigger upgrades are priced plainly, up front.

The work

Apps I've built end to end. Where there's a link, it's live — go look.

knowyour.design

Human Design as a native app people actually open — none of the woo.

Human Design usually shows up as a wall of jargon. knowyour.design turns your birth details into a clean native app — a personal chart, a reading written in plain language, and a signature card you'd actually want to share. Built to feel like a good consumer app, not a mystic PDF.

tom-bombs

A running golf brag, turned into an app they open after every round.

A long drive deserves a witness. tom-bombs lets a circle of golf buddies log their biggest bombs, settle the bragging rights, and get pinged the moment someone out-drives them — a native app with a companion web log, built around one running joke between friends.

Beacon

Tells a local business whether AI actually recommends them — honestly.

Ask ChatGPT or Gemini for “a good plumber near me” — does the local shop come up? Beacon runs an honest scan across the AI answer engines, tells an owner exactly where they stand (“you showed up in 3 of 10”), hands back a plain-language fix plan, and then proves whether it moved. No rank games, no account takeover.

TriDads

A workout-tracking PWA that retired a friend group's spreadsheet.

Six friends tracked their workouts in a shared Google Sheet until it buckled. TriDads is the home-screen replacement — log a run, ride, swim or lift, earn points on a real scoring system (there's a three-sport “Tridadalon” bonus), and watch the monthly leaderboard. A PWA: it installs to your phone with no App Store.

Client builds

Built for the people who asked — shown only with their say-so.

Some of the best work isn't for a billboard — a Montessori classroom planner for a school team, a private app that runs a twelve-person golf trip end to end. Built for the people who asked, and shown only with their say-so.

Why Platen Build exists

Why this exists

The platen was the plate that pressed the type into the paper — the part that actually made the impression, clean and exact, every time. I think about AI the same way: I take the idea you've been carrying around and press it into real, working software, then get it into the hands of people who'd never have a dev team build it for them.

I spent fifteen years as a product manager. The AI shake-out gave me the push and the time to go deep — and now I build the whole thing myself, with a trained team of AI agents and a system I've tuned until it just works.

There's no agency in the middle, no game of telephone, nobody's ego to manage. You talk to the person who's actually building the thing. That's the whole pitch.

What clients say

Voices
I came in with a half-formed idea and a folder of AI false-starts. Two weeks later I had a real app I use every day — and someone who actually keeps it running.
